MMDH: Current Muse Jenny Komenda
There are only a few designers I have been following on Instagram since before starting MMDH. One of them is Jenny Komenda of Juniper Studios, "Little Green Notebook" blog, and "Jenny's Print Shop". If you haven't seen her feed pop up in your Instagram highlights, you need to seek her out stat. I am not at all an expert on her businesses, although I will say that it is very apparent that she has done a lot right over the past 10-15 years in building her blog and brand. Part of her success has to be her relate-ability. She is a wealth of knowledge who is not afraid to share about lessons learned on projects, as well as tips and tricks of the trade to all who follow along.
I value so much of what I have learned from designers like Jenny via social media. The community over competition mantra runs deep in her brand, while her design eye has zero room to be questioned. Her modern eclectic aesthetic always feels a bit unexpected, which is difficult to say about most designers who have streamlined their aesthetic to a specific vibe. She is a true MMDH muse in both business and design.
It is such a great exercise to stop and think about who inspires you. You'll be surprised at how much wider your eyes can be opened to personal and professional goals when you sit and think for a minute about who you would consider a muse.
The best advice I can give to others after a solid year of chasing my dreams, is to document your muses and what they mean to your life goals. You then have something to work towards daily...even on the most chaotic of days. MMDH mantra: A lot can happen in a year!
